The Philippines human rights have called for its Government to revoke OceanaGold's right to mine in the nation.
It stated that the miner had allegedly violated the rights of the local indigenous peoples.
However, acting director of the Philippines Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), Leo Jasareno, told Reuters that he had not yet seen the claims but that the MGB would look into them.
"If there is such a recommendation by the Commission on Human Rights, then the MGB is duty-bound to open an investigation and find out if there is ground," he said.
When contacted, OceanaGold was unavailable for comment.
