Mining News: Coal India to Develop Underground Mine

The world's largest coal producer, Coal India, is set to develop a new underground mine in the state of Jharkhand, India .

 

Located at Muraidih, near Dhanban, the site has 20 million tons of coal reserves, according to PTI.

 

A source from Coal India told PTI that the tender, finalised a month ago, was floated by its subsidiary Bharat Coking Coal.

 

The mine is expected to begin its production within three years, with an estimated production capacity of two million tons per annum.
